HelmsBriscoe (HB) is the largest volume purchaser in the meetings and event industry. Their global relationships with all major hotel chains and many independents, help to support negotiations and resolve issues. In 2023 HelmsBriscoe turned over £1.4 billion, booking 6.9 million room nights and 51,000 meetings. There are 1,400 HelmsBriscoe Associates in 55 countries and I can work with any of these on your behalf.

I work with Central Hall Venues in supporting Methodist churches to become more self sufficient by utilising the resources they have. This includes identifying the Commercial potential of the church or venue and providing feasibility reports and suggestions on the best strategy for their future.

I provide support as either a consultant, mentor or NED across a wide selection of industries involved in Venue Management or Hospitality.

Black Swan Lettings manages two beautiful Victorian buildings in the centre of Northampton. There are 21 rooms to let and they vary from a one person office to a 18 person office with French doors onto a garden.

Central Hall Westminster is the largest Conference and Event venue in Central London. It has an auditorium with a capacity for over 200 people people and 25 other meeting and event spaces. Central Hall has hosted Ghandi, Churchill, Martin Luther King, the Royal family to name but a few, it was also the venue where the United Nations was formed. The events held here have included concerts by Kanye West , Robbie Williams, Queen and Gary Barlow, corporate and political conferences and screenings of world wide events. Paul was in charge of the running of the building and all of its commercial activity. Paul was responsible for agreeing the contracts with the BBC, CBS, NBC, CBS and ABC to utilise the balconys of Central Hall Westminster to broadcast the ceremonies taking place across the road at Westminster Abbey of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth and the coronation of King Charles.

Paul's Company, Black Swan Events, was employed to evaluate the Conference and Events venues within the UCL portfolio and to advise on how these may be improved. The role included assessing the existing facilities and operation and preparing a report on what effect any changes in the buildings would have on the finances.

The Royal Borough of Kensigtonton and Chelsea own a large and diverse number of Event spaces, Paul undertook a project to evaluate their usage and operation and to advise on how to make these facilities more commercial.

Paul was the Project Manager for the Hospitality and Ticket launch of the St George's Day (rugby match between London Wasps and Bath at Twickenham) on behalf of London Wasps. This included liaising with the RFU, the designers, the Charities and all elements of the management team.

An Interim role overseeing all Commercial activity at Stoneleigh Park. This included the marketing and sales for 30,000m2 of Exhibition Halls, 8 conference areas, 800 acres of land, a permanent event marquee, 4 restaurants an 4 x 4 circuit and two hotels.

Paul's role was to oversee the sales operation of all areas of Alexandra Palace while the Sales Director was on long term leave. This role included leading the sales and marketing teams, presenting to clients, and reviewing the pricing policy and the T's and C's.

European Events Limited was a leading live event management agency specializing in corporate events, hospitality and marketing strategy. Paul was a shareholder and a Director and therefore involved in all areas of running a company but with a speciality in Sales and Marketing. Paul has a vast knowledge of venues, hospitality and contacts within this industry.
