Our podcast showcases AI Entrepreneurs, App Startup Founders, and Investors that fund specific niche communities. The podcast started in May 2024 and the newsletter has been running fantastically since Summer 2022.

I'm a Limited Partner at Meta Fund (part of Adventure Fund) where we invest in tech startups.Adventure Fund is a micro-fund that pools together LPs from a professional network of top-talent two-decades in the making with over a decade of investments utilizing our thesis and approach. We leverage the founders in our own networks and industries we know to invest primarily in early-stage founders and their teams; we help great teams grow.

I cofounded Fanamana with Dan Cook, and Darren Gibney. Our core offering, InGame Fantasy was a truly unique live gaming experience that was really fun to play.Fanamana failed because of many factors. The game itself was and is incredible, but it was very niche and our focus was too much on the playability and not enough on onboarding. Our data tracking and analysis was not optimized, and our learning curve was slow and misfocused. The technology was not perfect and the overhead for making it so was beyond our capacity - we needed funding that we didn't get. As a legal fantasy company, the business landscape was damn near impossible - cruel twists knocked us back repeatedly and we were unable to sustain and really grow. In the face of this, our low installation and user numbers made it hard to stay motivated and invest the time it needed. It needed ALL of our time. Ultimately, it would have taken more conviction, more savvyness, more money to withstand the obstacles we faced in building a successful fantasy sports platform.The highs were pitching at Launch Festival, and at Sequoia the week before, and the moments we worked together to produce new versions of the game that we were truly proud of. The stat that made me most proud of the game we created was that our average daily session time was 26 minutes per day. The game was really, really good. Still is. While we only had a tiny number of active users, they were super passionate and they miss it. So do I.

Co-founded and organized the Sports Tech Meetup group in DC. The goals for the group were to uncover and encourage support of DC technologists who are disrupting the world of sports, and to connect individual developers, designers and agencies with some of the biggest names in sports entertainment. In 2017, the group's management was passed to SportTechie.com who continue to lead the groups efforts.

Built up a strong software development team from ground level, primarily producing ASP.Net web applications with SQL Server database. Developed and implemented company wide development strategies in order to maximize team performance, education and profitability. Continuing to push the company forward with rich web, mobile and social applications based on ever evolving technologies.

Founded and managed solo internet development business. Successfully implemented database-driven Web solutions for a diverse range of customers. Provided ongoing service to these customers throughout this time. Also installed wired and wireless network solutions for clients.

Spent a year’s industrial placement as well as two summers working as a Test Development & Software Engineer in telecommunications firm Nortel Networks. In charge of (and commended for) setting up and maintaining departmental intranet sites, as well as assisting in the design of test equipment.
