I am a rising third-year at UCLA studying International Development and Communications, driven by an interest in public policy and social impact work to advance socioeconomic mobility for communities of color. My academic and professional experiences have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the K-12 policy landscape, federal government constituent services, nonprofit management, and grant writing. This past summer, I was an XQ Institute intern for the Emerson Collective, where I advanced our company's goals of high school transformation by developing state policy briefs. Through this research, I evaluated nationwide secondary education systems and their effectiveness in integrating competency-based education to improve student opportunity and engagement.Currently, I am exploring careers in human resources, government affairs, communications, and philanthropy where I aim to leverage my background in marketing and policy to advance educational justice and accessibility. I am particularly interested in roles that allow me to bridge the gap between the public and private sectors, advocating for the needs of underrepresented communities and fostering inclusive workplaces.
