I transcribe information from Duval County public records into a database which gets printed in the paper. I also have transcribed interviews recorded by the editor and reporters, done some research for them and suggested trends that they might want to follow.

I typed reports, either from Dictaphone tapes or handwritten drafts, for the caseworkers and family support workers, using my editorial skills to make them more coherent and readable without in any way altering their content. I also filed and answered the phones.

I ran payment coupons and checks for the Mastercard division, using an NCR encoding machine and carved out a quasi-administrative position in which I kept statistics on the department's performance and created Excel and Powerpoint charts. I also wrote the minutes for the department meetings.
