I am a "believer." I have to believe in what I am doing and know that what I do is making a difference and being a benefit to others. I love sharing my passion to help those in need and have found that my knowledge and compassion is a wonderful fit in developing and providing education to those in the field of healthcare. Having worked in the long-term care field for over 14 years and due to the loss of my father and other family members to dementia, being able to share my personal and professional knowledge is an honor.In addition, I also love working in the field of marketing, public relations, and storytelling. During my career I have found that every organization is built by and around INSPIRING people. Being able to share their experiences, knowledge, and heart is something that brings me great joy and I believe serves as an inspiration to others too!I am also proud that many of the programs that I have created during my career continue to impact the lives of those in need, including Project Home's Hammer with a Heart program and the MOSAIC Dreams by Azura program. These initiatives, along with the events that I have coordinated such as the City-Wide Thrift Sale, which raised over $100,000 for the Alzheimer's Association and the Annual Azura Dementia Symposium, which educated thousands of healthcare professionals, are ones that I look back on with great pride.Lastly, I love being able to create and present trainings related to my experiences. It has been a privileged to speak before a variety of community groups, healthcare systems, and at statewide conferences to professionals, caregivers, and the general public. Especially gratifying has been my ability to work with the Second Wind Dreams program to be Wisconsin's first Certified Virtual Dementia Tour Trainer and as result, change the perception of aging and dementia for thousands!As the owner of Dementia211, I am able to continue to offer my compassion and expertise to families, professionals, and others looking to better understand the world of memory loss and to use the funds raised to help in the fight to end Alzheimer's!
