Advise and assist in meeting the Ventia health and safety strategic objectives and drive the implementation of the health and safety management system. Identify, plan and deliver work, health and safety (WHS), wellbeing, strategies through the provision of information, advice, assistance, education, compliance and enforcement services that contribute to the reduction of harm and/or improved support for injured or ill workers in NSW workplaces; and to health and safety improvements in industry and workplaces. - provide expert technical and operational advice to industry, workers and other stakeholders on legislative risk management and return to work principles. - conduct complex investigations and resolve issues through the provision of timely incident response services. - identify non-compliance with legislation and recommend appropriate strategies to enable person's conducting or undertaking a business to achieve compliance. - convene and facilitate external business forums on behalf of SafeWork NSW such as industry working parties, seminars and presentations. - conduct workplace visits, verification activities, audits and projects ensuring specified timeframes are met.- prepare accountable records including technical reports, statutory notices, policies, briefing documents and other correspondence. - identify emerging WHS trends and issues, recommend and contribute to development and review of technical and operational policies, procedures, documents and interventions

• Participate in the development, delivery and evaluation of SafeWork NSW’s risk-based prevention and response programs, which includes activities such as workplace visits, verification activities, and audits ensuring customer service standards and specified timeframes are met. • Identify, investigate and address issues of non-compliance with legislation and recommend / direct appropriate strategies to secure compliance. • Respond to fatality, serious injury and high-risk incidents, including participation in the afterhours emergency response service to address workplace health and safety risks.• Prepare accountable records to ensure compliance with legislation and communicate outcomes to relevant customers.

The MHF Specialist provides specialist expertise and support to the business to manage its major process safety risks by:• Planning and coordinating the roll out of the Caltex MHF Safety Case model at the Kurnell Terminal• Stewarding the continuous improvement of Operational Excellence performance at the Kurnell Terminal• Providing specialist advice to Terminal staff relating to the operational excellence management system and major hazards/process safety management

Kurnell Refinery

• Maintain Request for Change records for the refinery, including documentation of HSE meetings .• Supports RFC Initiators, Owners, Implementers, Technical Evaluators, and other participants by providing direction on the requirements of each step of the RFC process (e.g. required documentation), from RFC initiation to close out. This includes ensuring all required information is available for technical evaluation and HSE, scheduling of HSE meetings and guidance on PSSR and PSI requirements.• Provides input to T&I and other shutdown planning core teams, and supports compliance to MoC procedure during shutdowns.• Report as required on status of RFC’s and related actions to ensure compliance and identify system issues.• Provide information on RFC system for refinery governance reporting.• Participate in the Caltex OE tools (IIF, LPS & OEMS) to deliver a safe and positive work environment.
