I currently serve as the Director of Training at Deque, and Product Manager of Deque University -- an online digital accessibility curriculum -- and continue to expand Deque University features with the help of a talented team. I provide accessibility training and workshops at client sites, at conferences, and at other events. I was the Chair of the Certification Committee in the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) during the development of two IAAP certification exams: Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) and Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS), and I continue to work with the IAAP on certification-related tasks. My accessibility career started in 1999 as a founding member of WebAIM at the Center for Persons with Disabilities, Utah State University, where I served as Director of Training Products and Services for 6 years. My experience includes 7 years at George Mason University where he served as both faculty member (teaching the course Web Accessibility and Design) and a Web Services Architect. For my doctoral dissertation, I researched and wrote case studies about curriculum programs teaching web accessibility at the master's level in the US, London, and Austria.I'm also a photographer and artist, with a rather lengthy list of other interests and hobbies, including competitive ballroom dancing.
