Hms Daring

Managed EW and Intelligence department onboard the Royal Navy's cutting edge and world leading Type 45 destroyer HMS Daring. This assignment culminated in the regeneration of all aspects of the sub department prior to a 9 month deployment to the Arabian Gulf. Daring was detached from planned operations and operated as the sole UK warship tasked with keeping open the vital chokepoint of the Bab al Mandeb strait. This allowed critical shipping to transit through heavily contested waters in a hostile and kinetic environment ongoing due to the Yemen conflict. This period of operations seen HMS Daring spend more time at Action Stations than any RN warship since the Falklands War. I provided timely, concise and highly technical advice on all aspects of Electronic Warfare including enemy weapon systems, ISTAR asset and the tactical employment of both hardkill and softkill countermeasures to my command team in the most time critical environments.
