Dublin, Ireland
Hard to believe now in the world of 4G but I established Ballywire at a time when Ireland was transitioning from dialup internet connections to broadband. I could see the huge disruption the Internet was set to cause in the distribution of content. The original idea is as important today as it was then, to create broadcast quality video for brands and organisations for use online and in their social media channels. The company's content has appeared internationally on CNN, CBS, ZDF, and the BBC.Ballywire content has also worked with Ireland's newspaper publishers to publish the first of their Irish video material online. The company's content has generated millions of hits on YouTube and Ballywire video has also appeared on RTE, TG4 and TV3.

Recruited as a journalist to the then Radio Ireland as a news editor in February 1997, I enjoyed every minute of the two decades I spent on Ireland's national airwaves.Initially responsible for editing and producing the daily 30 minute National Lunchtime News, as well as news bulletin scripting and reading, I transitioned to sport in 2002.My weekly Today FM schedule involved arriving into Marconi House before dawn to script and read the daily sportsnews on the award winning Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show.Highlight (apart from working with a great team) included covering the 2003 Rugby World Cup and various International Rules tours to Australia.I also presented Ireland's first national commercial GAA show Championship Sunday which previewed the GAA summer Sundays.I was honoured to receive the Sports Story of the Year award at the 2015 Irish radio awards and the 2015 Munster GAA media award.
