I've worked steadily in QA as a hands-on manufactured parts and assembly inspector for more than five years, starting my career in Synrad Inc., a precision cutting- laser OEM.My primary drive and goal is to constantly improve quality parts throughput in any machining, assembly or manufacturing facility by assuring usable first parts, nominally dimensioned parts throughout the run, and complete first article reports. I am also constantly searching the net for ways to improve inspection processes.Specialties: Liaison with management and engineering concerning customer requirements and manufactured parts usability.

Quality Inspector IvBe Aerospace Paine Field May 2010 - Sep 2015Learned all receiving inspection parts and assemblies and processes during the first year. Used scales, Boeing approved color samples, height gage, calipers and mics to check dimensional callouts. Wrote NCRs against discrepant parts. Assisted engineering and purchasing in improving the duct manufacturing process.Lead Source Inspection Prep effort for a year and a half under several authorized Boeing Source Inspectors and helped plant obtain Delegated status for all oxygen equipment and PSU cabin air equipment.Re-familiarized myself with receiving inspection, learned PMA aftermarket inspection and assisted our DMIR and DARs, assisted conformity inspections, supported plant delegated final inspection, and researched and wrote a product audit. -
First Part InspectorTyee Aircraft Apr 2008 - Jun 2009Used calipers, mics, height gage and indicator, bore gages and branson ultrasonic gages to check swaged steel and aluminum, forged steel, steel, aluminum, brass, titanium and plastic machined parts to house and vendor drawings with geometrically toleranced callouts. Constantly used and learned inspection calculation features of our Starrett Optical Comparator including C/L, datum systems, perpendicularity, true position tolerancing and setting up manual parts programs for routines commonly used.Learned specific requirements of helicopter flight safety parts, and saw that any part submitted conformed and could be passed by final inspection.Kept daily log of in-process inspections of all multi-axis machining centers and hole milling operations, and assisted adjusting parts headed toward an out-of-tolerance condition.Coordinated with supervision and engineering to properly interpret confusing drawing callouts. Coordinated with company Lean Supervisor, Teresa Addison, to evaluate all available electronic height gages to chose one for purchase. Interviewed five reps and used three models- Sylvac, Mahr Federal and Tesa Hite, trained on and used the last two for one week evaluation.

Qa Inspector Aircraft/ Aluminum Heat Treat InspectorTect Aerospace Everett Feb 2005 - Apr 2008Uses Mitutoyo "Bright" CMM with CMM Manager custom made software, (and previously learned Geopak software program) to check geometrically toleranced tight tolerance machined first parts, first article inspections, in process parts submitted by machinists, and final inspections against all drawing and parts list requirements and dispositions discrepant parts for material review board/engineering final decisions and/ or writes repair pick-ups with detailed instructions to deburr and machinist personnel. Runs previously made CMM programs and does some editing and fixture altering to improve run-time and features checked.Studies new families of parts. Does many parts inspections with calipers, mics and scales in my privately owned toolbox, that is set up so he has the latest and most accurate inspection tools available with resolutions into the ten-thousandths of an inch range and all tools are in Tect's calibration system. I also have a set of ceramic gage blocks and optical flats for fine measurements and mic/caliper maintenance. Assists our QEs by accurately inspecting rejected parts 100% and recording results for their disposition.Has worked for over the last two years on aircraft machined and sheet metal parts for Boeing, Cessna, BAE Airbus, Bombardier , Middle River Aircraft Engine Housings as well as parts for Spirit Aircraft, and Saint Gobain.Works as sole heat treat quality control inspector for Tect Everett's in-house and outside contract heat treat facility and has assisted in the passing of three NADCAP, three ISO, and three Boeing process audits during his two plus years at Tect in Everett. Was both eddy current and rockwell hardness tester certified as well as heat treat inspection certified. -
Qa Mechanical InspectorTtm Inc. Redmond Jun 2004 - Dec 2004Use Mitutoyo CMM to check routed and drilled feature dimensions for first article inspections for customer requirements. Calculate and check for bow and twist requirements. Prepare packages of customer specifications and drawing requirements for lab personnel to use to determine product acceptability. Inspect all mechanical features of circuit board orders for final OK for shipment to the customer. Use mics, calipers, pin gages and board score web thickness gages.Use and calibrate CMI metal coating thickness machines and software. Recalibrate application files.Operate Cogex PC based programmable CMM employing measurement programs while learning the software installed. -
Qa Inspector AircraftHoneycutt Machine Incorporated May 1999 - May 2004As the senior member of their QA team, check many of the machinist's first parts as well as issuing work orders, process check and final inspections, as well as checking OSP sheet metal parts for dimensional and finish requirements. Learned ISO 9000/9001 implementation requirements in preparation for ISO startup. Reviewed and applied Geometric Dimensioning/Tolerancing ANSI Y14.5M 1994 standards. Program/use all of our Browne/Sharpe Reflex CMM's ('97 software) features to accurately verify our machinist's part checks, therefore controlling the manufacturing process. Honeycutt has been doing much prototyping work for companies such as Cascade Aviation, Applied Precision, U.S. Navy Undersea Warfare and Britax Heath Tecna, so I've had an intensive learning process on the Reflex. Used their Browne/Sharpe PocketSurf micro finish gage and Tesa Micro-Hite electronic height-gage as well as became proficient with pitch-mics and various bore-gages.
