About Paul Druckman

I am a passionate global leader in capital market reform - from corporate governance to reporting, accounting and sustainability.What drives me? A desire for a world where climate change, biodiversity and inequality are tackled. I was subsequently asked to become the volunteer Executive Chairman of A4S and this resulted in the creation of the International Integrated Reporting Council in 2011, as detailed in the section on reporting and accounting above. - During my tenure examples of what we developed include the Connected Reporting Framework, the first Global Accounting Bodies Network on sustainability, and a great deal of material and promotion of how to embed sustainability into business practice.

    KEY ACHIEVEMENTS- As President, I helped professionalize the organization by creating the CEO role. I thereby changed the role of President from being a quasi-CEO to being a Chairman in a group of Office Holders for a three year term. This delivered a step-change in the organization’s capability and consistency of leadership- Worked with the new CEO to develop a new strategy and set of strategic themes to evolve the accounting body to be fit-for-purpose as the changing demands on the profession evolved on a global scale- Drove the development of a new suite of continuing professional development courses for members that were fit-for-purpose in the new professional environment of the 21st century- During the period leading up this and during my tenure as an office holder, I promoted sustainability as a major priority - this was the first time the organization seriously engaged with sustainability issues. For example, I founded and chaired the Corporate Responsibility Advisory Group; I obtained the support of several high profile individuals, including Sir Mark Moody-Stuart (Chairman of Anglo American) and Sir Ian McIntyre (Chairman of Network Rail)- I was initially the Chairman of the IT Faculty from 1999, as well as a member the Council before becoming an office holder. I was the IT Advisor to the internal team for the early part of my involvement and oversaw successful multi-million pound project implementations.- Served on various UK Government panels including the National Forum for Startups and the DTI Stakeholder Panel on Better Regulation. I regularly represented the ICAEW at many national bodies and forums, including the Treasury, the DTI, the City of London Corporation
