Responsible for Xbox Safety strategy, developing product and operational approach to keeping gamers happy by ensuring Xbox Live is a safe and enjoyable experience. Accountable for Content & Conduct Moderation strategy, including policy creation & implementation; shared Safety roadmap with product teams; design, development, and maintenance of bespoke moderation platform with multiple high-volume, high-uptime tools & services; internal and external engagement with senior executives, industry, regulators, and inter-governmental agencies; staffing strategy; and consultation & advocacy for child safety, parental controls, digital civility, and safety by design.Deployed operations, program management, and engineering resources to build and maintain trust, delivering proactive & reactive moderation of User Generated Content (UGC), behavioral investigations, fraud detection and prevention, and other capabilities. Consulted on corporate policy positions and issues related to election integrity, child safety, and health & wellness. Led development & expansion of grooming detection technique that Microsoft contributed to the Microsoft 360 Cross-Industry Hackathon with WePROTECT GlobalAlliance and the Child Dignity Alliance to become Thornโs anti-grooming tool (formerly known as Project Artemis). Full budget responsibility for $12 million/year, 100+ member employee & vendor cross-functional team; maintained flat year-over-year budget despite multi-year 100%+ volume growth. Automated 96% of Xboxโs largest user-generated content complaint queue with high accuracy, precision, & recall. Reduced attributable customer support costs by more than 50% with cleaner & more consistent policy messaging, deeper product integration, and better educational content.
