China Re, having bought Chaucer Syndicates Ltd, chose to close its original Lloyd’s Syndicate, China Re s2088 on 31st December 2019. For Paul this was a disappointing outcome made especially so as it followed two years of successful business development. Although brief, the two year period was enjoyable and saw Paul not only continue to support his brokers with high levels of service and innovative underwriting solutions, but also the development of new products to meet emerging needs.

Responsible for all aspects of the Accident & Health Division including setting and achieving budget; creation and implementation of strategy; managing, developing and training of staff and provision of reports to the Board.Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, producers and clients combined with excellent levels of service is vital to successful growth and is therefore not only a discipline practiced by Paul but also one that is instilled within the team.As a short tail class which has historically returned acceptable results, Accident business remains popular within both the Lloyd's and Company environments.
