Connecting with people has been at the heart of my career. I am able to cut through organisational noise and the ‘this is how it’s always been done’ approach to see what will make a real difference to customers, colleagues and stakeholders. My corporate executive role as Creative Director with Sky Sports enabled me to pursue my passions for getting things done, using a well executed strategy; bringing creative, innovative content and working in high energy environments with dedicated, capable people.I’m really proud of what we achieved at Sky; during my time there I was a key leader in exponential growth of Sky Sports, not only as an international, recognised brand, but as a truly multi-channel broadcaster, and sports news and communications platform. I’m a meticulous planner and always seek to bring structure and order at the outset, so that accountabilities, performance and results are clear. I have a strong work ethic, set the quality bar extremely high and am a stickler for deadlines - in live sports broadcasting this is essential. I also make time for people - I listen very carefully and am always prepared to change my mind and a course of action; I have always surrounded myself with bright, able individuals who have functional and technical depth that I respect and draw upon.My professional horizons spanned many sectors and audiences, including sport, event management, sponsorship, training, technology, media and broadcasting, and my achievements at Sky also represented positive outcomes across all of these groups. During this next phase of my career, I am facing the new challenges of a hereditary eye disorder, which has, over the past 2 years, left me severely sight impaired. I will also be using my skills and experience in business - strategy and planning, operational management and commercial acumen - and applying them in a new context.
