For three years I was a creative nomad where I’d pop into different agencies, do some creative magic, then just as quickly leave. Like Mary Poppins minus the singing. As a freelance writer, my job was to not only hit the ground running, but also to seamlessly integrate with the creative department as a brand champion. Wherever I went, I truly become part of the team. I had to be nimble and exercise flexibility in order to jump from project to project, quickly connecting the dots from strategy to creative. Even though I’m trained as a writer, I also led with a sharp eye for design and kept a constant finger on the pulse of culture. In a number of major projects, including a financial new business pitch which I helped win, I worked "cross-functionally" with other facets of the agencies, such as media, development, account and others. For everything from developing scripts to banner ads to writing radio, I played a leading role in defining and executing creative ideas across all brand touchpoints.Clients included: MINI, Koodo, Kellogg's, BMW, Scotia Bank, UFC, Capital One, Burger King, Canadian Tire, Bank of Montreal, Kraft Peanut Butter, Kraft Dinner, Boston Pizza, Telus, and LCBO.
