The latter has included research and writing, University teaching, business entrepreneurship, public speaking and advising the boards and executives of numerous global corporations. My focus is to help people deepen their understanding of the relationship between sustainability, business value and strategy and support them to prepare for the now inevitable and disruptive transformation of the market. My objective in all this work is to accelerate action on sustainability.Throughout my career I have held various roles including the executive director of Greenpeace International, being a successful entrepreneur as founder and CEO of several companies, as well as writing a well-regarded book on economics and sustainability “The Great Disruption”, to which Pulitzer Prize winning writer Tom Friedman concluded in the NYT, "Ignore Gilding at your peril". I lecture and publish through the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, of which I am a Fellow and financially support their program on Radical Innovation & Clean Disruption.
