Pauline studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Architecture de Montpellier, in France, whereshe won the French-Japanese Scholarship to live and work in Sendai, after the great Tohokuearthquake and tsunami in 2011. After a year spent in Japan, being part of Prof. Toshikazu Ishida’sresearch group investigating flood resilience strategies at Tohoku University, fully immersing herselfin the design world working alongside Yasuaki Onoda and Toyo Ito at their practices in Tokyo andSendai, Pauline returned to France to continue her studies.Her masters concluded with a thesis exploring the effects of flooding in the urban area, whereshe developed strategies and methods for the integration of urban planning, water safety and watermanagement.Thereafter, she started her professional experience and moved to New York and San Francisco.Still sensitive to water management and environmental sustainability, she has followed a hydrologyfor planners course at UC Berkeley, in 2016.Pauline brings a different ‘take’ on venue design and major events brought about through hervarious experiences at Burning Man, a temporary city erected in Nevada.Working for tech clients in the Silicon Valley has involved numerous large-scale commercialand mixed-use projects, including the Google Campus, the Instagram’s Manhattan office, and aresearch center at Stanford University.Looking for further challenges and broadening her knowledge she moved to London to develop herskills in Wearable Design and Interior Design. Passionate about the reconfiguration of intent and purpose in design, she has a hands-on approach to exploring design, that has to lead her to design items from furniture to collapsible top hats.
