Technical lead for Google Assistant (L5). My team closely collaborated with Amazon and Harman to build the JBL Authentics line of speakers, which simultaneously supports Google Assistant and Alexa.Role responsibilities include:* Building a new team of 10 engineers. This involved interviewing, as well as ramping up L3/L4/L5s.* Working directly with Harman to provide support for their Linux based speaker platform, as well as Amazon to ensure our software stacks can peacefully coexist and integrate where it makes sense.* Providing and reviewing designs as well as writing features in C++.* Rapid prototyping of new features backed by LLMs for Google Assistant.Previously I was a Technical lead for Android Auto Connectivity (L4/L5). We built the infrastructure that makes driving safer by providing a platform that reduces distracted driving while still making things people care about (such as maps and music) easily available.The roles responsibilities include: * Leading a project with 3 engineers with a big focus on building a platform that needs to be supported for the next 15 years. * Interfacing with partners (BMW and GM) to diagnose problems with the stack as well as suggesting and building systems to improve reliability. * Working with Android OS engineers to improve the platform and ensure continued compatibility with every new Android release.Prior to my work on Android Auto, I was a member of the Google Social Graph team. (L3/L4) * Designing APIs that are consistent and usable across multiple platforms (Android, IOS, Web).* Strong focus on performance improvements including latency, memory and binary size.
