Lawyer | Commercial Litigation
CurrentFounded in 1973, Foulsham & Geddes law firm offers a wide range of legal services for small business and private individuals. The firm prides itself on personal, friendly service and the benefit of years of experience, offering personalised attention and building clients' confidence so they are in control of and not intimidated by any legal process.I have been working at Foulsham & Geddes as a senior litigation lawyer for almost 14 years. I understand that commercial litigation is both complex and costly and it is rarely worthwhile taking commercial disputes to court, because of the costs involved. My approach is always to try to settle these disputes as quickly and cost effectively as possible. Wherever possible, I try to employ Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) techniques, to achieve this goal. In the event a matter does proceed to be litigated, our team of expert solicitors have the expertise and technical knowledge necessary to ensure the best possible outcome for our clients.Throughout my time at the firm my major achievements in commercial litigation matters have included: * Successfully resisted application for an interlocutory injunction in a $20 million contract dispute in the Federal Court of Australia. * Obtained mareva relief in a $500,000 contract dispute in the commercial list of the Supreme Court resulting in capitulation by the defendants. * Successfully defended a Privacy Act complaint against a major University before the Administrative Decisions Tribunal.* Pressured a trading corporation to pay $400,00.00 debt by bringing urgent application before Equity Division Duty Judge* Advised major university on strategies to manage enquiries by NSW Ombudsman and associated proceedings before the Administrative Decisions Tribunal.
