Board Member
Current
Assistant Dean Of External Relations
Established this new role for the college of Science & Computing at BYU, working directly with the 7 department chairs as one of the Deans to create greater opportunities for the 3,000+ students, as well as the 150 faculty and 50 staff. Created a vision and rhythm for the engagement of Alumni, corporate partners, and created advisory boards for college departments. Identified and established relationships with net new key advisors, from the makers of Fortnite to other top tier business leaders in the industries we served. Go BYU! Deeply enjoyed working closely with some amazing people - the owners of the Animation program, delivering world-class animation experiences in a very challenging industry; the Rheumatic Relief program, helping bring awareness and treatment opportunities to Pacific Island communities, with noteworthy humanitarian outcomes; and so many more. Students today are facing many unique and extremely challenging circumstances, in a very different world than my days at university. it was a pleasure to contribute to the worthy effort to enable them to launch in a way that both maximizes their opportunity, their individual potential - and that also brings a positive impact on the world where they choose to lead.
President
AMAX is a 40 year technology company with incredible engineering and solution design expertise, across applications within data centers, server platforms, robotics, AI, and custom manufacturing, poised for a breakthrough of growth. My role was to deliver that breakthrough and the specific approach was to link together the Sales and Engineering teams with Manufacturing and the rest of the company, both within the US as well as the EMEA and China businesses, as we confirmed the overall opportunity in both the near and long-term. I was inspired by the commitment, passion, and capability of everyone there, and we had already generated tangible momentum in only 6 months. I couldn't say no when I was recruited to create a new role/capability for a key and growing college at BYU. It was difficult to leave the AMAX team and I look forward to seeing their growth for many years to come.
President
Honored to have led this amazing company, with full responsibility for the global business all-up. Fully rebooted the culture, rhythm, and performance via "Novarad 2.0". This resulted in 38% growth in the first ten months, reversing 5 years of declining sales. So much more to say about these amazing 2 years, and very proud of how effective 2.0 was when it came to the pandemic - while many of our customers were seeing 85% decline, we pulled together as a company and held our revenue flat over 2019. It was an awesome journey with some amazing people and I'm very grateful for the experience.
Director Of Marketing - Hp Asia
As the Director of Marketing and Investments for the HP PC and Server business, I led a nimble team of Marketing and Account managers across Asia to continue growing HP’s #1 share in PC (incl. China, Japan, India, and all of APAC). I am fueled by creating innovative, fresh approaches to existing Campaigns and Programs, and by redesigning existing Events strategy, and Marketing Operations to deliver better value to HP and Microsoft's joint Channels and Customers, across all Consumer, Commercial, and Academic segments of the Asian markets. Awarded only months prior to departing Microsoft for leadership in breakthrough programs, most noteworthy for contributions to the $1.2M Smart Learning Hubs campaign, which continues to deliver Tech Learning Experiences to disadvantaged youth at HP Retail locations across India. I felt very proud of this and many other very creative and impactful campaigns we designed and implemented across China, Japan, ANZ, as well as Korea and all of SEA. This was an experience I will never forget, with a team that was truly amazing. In this role, I held joint Revenue responsibility of over $1B and personally owned over $25M of annual market investment.
Director Of Sales - Asia Pacific Oem Multi-National Accounts
As Director of Sales for Microsoft's Asia Pacific OEM business, I led the APAC Multi-National Accounts business (Asus, Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung), with full revenue, scorecard, and attach program responsibility across 17 countries. In this capacity, I engaged closely with 5 Regional Partner Account Managers and ~30 Microsoft Channel Sales Executives across all 10 APAC Subsidiaries (Asia - minus Japan, India, China), to develop business relationships and programs in Consumer, Commercial, Education and Government segments. This, to enable our global OEM partners to grow their businesses and out-perform Asian market trends. APAC is the largest Multi-sub Area in Microsoft's OEM Field organization. This key role was equal parts challenging on the business side, and satisfying from a team perspective. The team exceeded revenue targets both years was in this role. Note: before being asked to manage the Multi-national partners, I carried full responsibility for the OEM Distribution & Reseller Channel business in APAC.
Various Sales, Marketing, And Biz Dev Roles
Led several teams and drove processes, investments, and programs to deliver breakthrough results within the WW OEM Division, the US Channel, and Microsoft's long tail Customer base. Grateful for the amazing experiences and depth of learning at this great company.
Finance Business Analyst
Before moving to the business side, I delivered Business Analysis and comprehensive Finance support for US Sales and Marketing teams (Distribution, Anti-Piracy, Small and Med Business Marketing, LAR/DMR Channels).Provided all Business Planning and Strategy support (mid-year review - huge at MSFT). Provided multiple recommendations, determining the initial investment details into the System Builder Channel field sales team, the Small Business Events team (Big Day - became Microsoft Across America). I am particularly proud of developing full scale Managed Partner Rebate calculation systems, which remained in use for over 6 years, and for conceiving, designing, and deploying a "Lost VAR" system (using MS Access) during 2001, which ultimately became the defacto global Channel Reseller targeting tool, and is still in use today.
Cost Analyst - Commercial Airplane Division
Negotiated long-term supplier contracts within the Purchasing function. Awarded for record cost savings across the three US Analyst Teams (50+ analysts), within first 6 months in role.In addition to the business deliverables of the role, also developed a new method of quantifying the size and scope of supplier contracts, at the level of part numbers - providing real-time ability to adjust the model, enabling our teams to negotiate greater positions for Boeing, and also to ensure that suppliers were able to land the appropriate margins over the contract term to grow their business. Ultimately launched this new model across Seattle-based and St. Louis teams to more than 50 Cost Analysts, resulting in unprecedented excellence and upside for the division.
Financial Analyst
Started as a Data Analyst, and in this world of Data Science I'm proud that this was my first role out of university so long ago. From that capacity, grew personal capability and scope of the role to also include more broad Financial Analysis deliverables - Production and Mfg cost and output modeling, General Budget Planning, Financial Reporting and process automation. Made a reputation for myself by automating several manual processes, utilizing mainly Microsoft Access (Visual Basic for Applications - VBA) and Microsoft Excel. Taught myself SQL code and fundamentally redesigned the way data were captured and processed by the company.
