My position involved:• Liaising with customer and supplier,• Demonstrating, installing, training, and adapting machines to customer needs,• Offering service visits and design of mechanical, electronic and software modifications, • Problem solving and detailed application work on-site.I was responsible for representing over 20 suppliers, dealing with over 50 different machines and supporting around 40 sites Europe-wide.Firfax Systems distributed around Europe therefore Application Engineers are expected to travel extensively, driving over 40000 miles per year is commonplace. During my employment at Firfax I regularly traveled to mainland Europe with occasional trips to Arizona, Minneapolis and Singapore. During the year 2000 I spent 90% of my working year away from home.
