I studied psychology (psychometrics, theoretical psychology, statistics, research methodology) at the University of Utrecht. My PhD dissertation was completed 1998 at Erasmus University Rotterdam (Dept. of Public Health). At the moment I am positioned at the Department Epidemiology of the University Medical Center Groningen. I am an expert in (subjective) health-outcome measurement methodology.On several occasions I have organized and presented workshops at international conferences and published over 150 peer-reviewed articles, 5 book chapters, and 1 book.More important, I have developed a novel measurement model (PLoS ONE 2013, BMC Medical Research Methodology 2018) that integrates features of different existing models. Together with medical doctors and commercial partners (Nestlé, BusyMachines) we have developed several patient-centered ePROMs (Dementia, Chronic pain, Infants, Transplantation) and special software tools.
