Leading development of a custom mining hardware platform for deployment across GRIID mining centers

My role with Dover Fueling Solutions was to manage the hardware electronics engineering team in Austin, Texas. Our Austin team lead the electronics design and development for the DFS Anthem dispenser platform and supported all DFS/Wayne dispenser electronic components including pump computer control PCBs, networking components, payment components, LCDs, scanners, and printers.

Performed validation and characterization of analog peripheral modules for wireless 32bit ARM Cortex MCUs. This includes internal voltage regulators, A/D Converters, RC and crystal oscillators, and capacitive touch/sense ports. Testing was performed on custom designed hardware using embedded code on the target processor and Visual C# application running on the host PC.

Established Enviro's electrical engineering team responsible for product development and certification of all electronic control and axial fans. Played primary role as product architect and design lead, while recruiting an engineering design team to certify products with core company technologies such as: 28VDC brushless motor control, temperature and mass flow sensing, and embedded system control.• Responsible for embedded software requirement definition, code development and testing of 10+ field software releases and responsible for completion of DO178 software certification for aircraft programs such as Embraer Phenom’s, Honda Jet, AgustaWestland 139 Helicopter. Developed the company process for FAA/DO178 software certification used in 8 OEM development programs. • Supported contract manufacturing for production of over 50 different PCB assemblies and 5000+ annual volume. Specified requirements for automated production line validation testing at offsite contract manufacturer using Labview based software. • Executed company initiative to build fully compliant RTCA DO160 EMC Lab with RF Anechoic Chamber including equipment specification, bidding, and purchase. Directed product electrical qualification testing per RTCA DO160 standard (EMI, EMC, Power input) on all company products.• Implemented improved design review process and drove circuit redesigns of motor controllers to address field reliability problems including improved heat sink designs and other thermal design enhancements. • Supported the acquisition, move and integration of cabin pressure control product lines acquired from Kollsman Inc. including recertification of controller software to DAL B.• Strategically lead introduction of following new technologies and core competencies:PCB Circuit Design and Layout, PCB Manufacturing/Test, CANBus, Software Version Control, Configuration management, Sensorless BLDC Motor Controller, Flex Circuit Technology, EMI/EMC Design, Obsolescence Management

Joined small team of engineers at a network processor start-up company. Acquired by Lucent Technologies (2000). Spun off as Agere Systems (2001), Acquired by LSI Technologies (2007). Verified 4 generations of ASIC designs (Agere Payload Plus 2.5G RSP, Agere APP550 RSP, APP650 RSP, Agere APP350) from beginning to end of design phase culminating in successful tapeout and production. Responsible for developing and revising verification plan and methodology for testing various functional blocks of traffic manager. Created random assembly instruction test generator for testing a bit-slice microprocessor. Drove effort to develop a system testbench environment and assisted in debugging block and chip level functional verilog. Developed batch simulation scripts to submit large numbers of tests to a server farm enabling entire regression to run in parallel. Implemented method to recreate FPGA Lab tests in verilog simulation allowing for faster debug times. Worked directly with IT department as team liaison to communicate team hardware and software requirements and helped advise on making effective infrastructure improvements. Led team of 6 local engineers – helped develop test plans, testbench architecture, and scheduling for design manager. Directed and assisted remote team in Shanghai in assignment of verification responsibilities and implementation strategy in weekly progress meetings. Managed and organized interview process for hiring of 5 staff engineers including resume screen, phone screening, and team interview scheduling. Joined small team of engineers in network controller start-up company. Developed and revised verification plan and methodology for gigabit ethernet controller design. Developed tools for promotion procedures and batch testing of design. Developed web based interface system for test reporting and incident tracking. Developed debug design traces and design checkers with verilog/PLI. Acquired by Level One Communication in October 1998. Level One Communications acquired by Intel in January 1999.
