Specialised in Tactical Data Links (TDLs) during a 15 year career with the Royal Air Force (RAF) as an Aerospace Systems Manager. Working within the UK Air Defence Ground Environment as a TDL Operator, and during the last 4 years of my career as a TDL Network Manager, enabled me to get a sound grounding in TDL principles. During my time in the RAF I was also employed as a trainer, responsible for the theoretical and practical training of squadron personnel in Air Defence principles at a Control and Reporting Centre. I also had responsibility for training TDL Network Managers in the theoretical and practical aspects of Network Management, including operation of the JTIDS Air Platform Network Management System, Frequency Clearance issues and planning of large scale UK and NATO TDL exercises.
