MULTIMODAL SYSTEM PLANNING AND DESIGN:Lead multi-modal planning projects in Indianapolis and Carmel Indiana. These projects initiated transportation systems to integrate bicycle, pedestrian and transit modes in a network of streets that form typology-specific corridors throughout the region. The systems were designed to encourage the development of a place-based transportation. Principally pulling land use analysis, housing and neighborhood planning, economic development potential, and green infrastructure into the plan to assure a comprehensive approach that would add value to residents and allow the guidelines to be adopted. URBAN DESIGN:Lead the Indianapolis East 10th Street Urban Design and Gateway Plan, which sought to improve the pedestrian environment and promote active walkable access and crossing areas. The project looks at parking and parking management for businesses and residences, as well as the creation of bicycle facilities and connections to existing bicycle facilities. The project recommends improved bus shelters and bus pull-offs at key locations and intersection traffic management and improved traffic flow. The plan presents design alternatives for balanced multimodal transportation, and corridor/district placemaking, as well as destinations functions; district and gateway identity elements; and public open space. Design recommendations, probable constructions budgets and implementation strategies, provide the community with a blueprint for action.

Ann Arbor, Mi ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING:Contributed to the development of Ann Arbor’s “State of the Environment Report” by creating illustrations of the major environmental policy issues affecting the City, including, maps of the watersheds, floodplains, lighting usage, contaminant sources and sites; conducted data analysis and prepared illustrative graphs to address goals for phosphorus reduction and City energy use. Additional project examples include the Washtenaw County Water Protection Activities Report; the City of Ann Arbor Hazard Mitigation Plan, and the Ann Arbor Public School System All Hazards Plan.Project Example:City of Ann Arbor Flood Mitigation PlanI was the City of Ann Arbor’s lead planner and project manager on the City of Ann Arbor Flood Mitigation Plan I completed the technical and planning work associated with management duties; public engagement, surveying, data collection, GIS analysis, document composition and writing, editing, outreach, research, graphical design. I designed and lead a series of public engagement exercises throughout the community as well as presenting at public bodies to obtain resolutions of support and plan approval. The plan assessed the impacts on neighborhoods affected and took a comprehensive land use approach to the area within the cities floodplains and was designed to provide decision makers with clear policy directions for floodplain uses. I oversaw the plans approval locally, by the state, and by the Federal governing agencies. The plan was designed to be easily adopted into the City’s comprehensive plan. Additionally, I was solely responsible for budget management and financial reporting. I submit quarterly reports to the State on the status of the work, the expenses incurred and the expected financial commitments. I also submit invoices for State reimbursement, as work is completed and internal tracking documents as required by the City’s accounting procedures.
