Head of the Commercial Asset Finance Credit and Residual Risk function at 298 Deansgate Manchester reporting into the Deputy Director of Credit & Risk Commercial Bank.• Undertake credit analysis and assessment of all new and existing Commercial Asset Finance customer transactions from £50,000 to £40m to ensure sound credit decisioning, safe profitable lending growth and minimisation of bad debt losses.• Responsible for all Residual Value Setting and subsequent portfolio management including Mark to Market, headroom limits analysis and control for the ALCF residuals portfolio. Book size c£175m growing at 15% per annum.• Responsible for managing and monitoring a portfolio of c.7500 customers, with combined exposure of over £850m relating to passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, trailers, buses and coaches and recently more general asset finance.• Full relationship role requiring review of portfolio and credit issues liaising with heads of CAF divisions and the CAF sales director. Project control Group member for legal documentation and system developments.• Personal underwriting mandate up to £2.5m and £3.5m joint. Also, preparing high value, detailed credit pitches outside of personal mandate for submission to Commercial and Corporate Credit Committee• Collaterals included cars, commercial vehicles and trailers and more recently, yellow plant, printing equipment, engineering machinery and materials handling equipment plus sales aid equipment e.g. office equipment, computers and telephone systems.

Now part of Allaince & Leicester Commercial Finance Limited the role was to manage the Hansar satellite office and jointly manage the ALCF Bus & Coach Division with the Head of Bus & Coach. New Business advances for Bus & Coach £96m per year (£48m Hansar, £45m ALCF M/cr), Debtor book size £180m and Profit £2m.• Part of the management team, involved in formulating strategies and policy with regard to the overall running of the business.• Effective management of the Hansar Operations teams, including new business, collections, recoveries, customer services, projects and accounts - 10 direct reports and 17 staff in total, processing £2.5m of BACS payments each month.• Provide intellectual support and initiative to new business opportunities; be aware of market conditions presenting threats and opportunities.• Review and consistently monitor procedures and processes for group compliance, best practice and system design to meet customer service standards.• Participate in strategy planning and budget planning, analysis and implementation alongside the Head of Bus & Coach and monitor performance against budgets.• Project manage with the Senior Systems Administrations Manager and Hansar Project Manager the introduction of Group systems to Hansar at the appropriate time.

Provide objective information to the Residual Risk Manager and the Sovereign Management team for strategic and tactical decision making. Provide intellectual leadership and analytical ability and industry expertise for a growing book (c20% per annum).Review the residual setting process and investigate support for future return, disposal and re-marketing of goods. Manage the day to day running of the team.

To effect control, supervision and development of the Small Ticket Team with the objective of providing a quality service measured by our Service Level Agreement and quality decisions which meets with Sovereign's sales and underwriting policy requirements. Successfully managing a team of 7 people.
