I am driven to achieve "impossible". When others say something can't be done, I am skeptical.I have the gifts of wonder and enablement. My mind never stops cycling through possibilities of greater potential and opportunity in a given situation. I am happiest when I am learning about new things, and doing so with other people, providing encouragement and assistance for an idea or project.My undergraduate degree in humanities and my graduate degree in architecture have given me a broad base to practice empathy and create memorable and meaningful environments and experiences. I enjoy equally the human and design aspects of creative projects. As such, I am a facilitator of ideas and how those ideas are best visualized and implemented. I am also the middle of 7 children (born to amazingly patient parents). I am a born facilitator and moderator, able to communicate well with everyone from the most junior to the most senior project member, vendor, or client.As you might imagine, with these "soft" skills my career trajectory has not been linear:For 2 years, I taught high school Literature, Composition, and Journalism.For a number of years, I worked jobs in Construction and Architecture.For 12 years, I led a company that designed, fabricated, and installed signature works of art around the globe - www.designfugitives.com We investigated every facet of knowledge and skill required to push our projects into the realm of "never been done before." We won multiple awards, were published nationally, and gained a reputation for doing projects that others had deemed impossible. But underneath all of this was a deep desire to connect with project partners, clients, and end users. If you know people deeply, you can design meaningfully.Thankfully, this path has given me ample "hard" skills as well: I am proficient in CAD/CAM programs, Rhinoceros, BIM software, Enscape Visualization software, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Business Suite. If Legos count, I'm expert level in that as well.Moving forward, I am looking for the next opportunity to redefine what's possible when combining arts and humanities to create environments and experiences more connected to the human condition.
