I am a graduate of Colorado School of Mines (CSM) with a major in Mining Engineering and a minor in Explosives Engineering. During my time in Zambia and at NASA, I learned the importance of setting ambitious goals and striving for excellence even in seemingly unreachable endeavors. My experiences at an open pit copper mine in Zambia laid the groundwork for my expertise as a Mining Engineer, while my tenure at NASA honed my skills in open-ended problem-solving and effective cross-disciplinary collaboration to achieve objectives.Beyond my engineering background, I also pursued a path as a Financial Advisor and completed additional courses through Rio Tinto to become a Peer Supporter. This role has allowed me to strengthen relationships with my peers and offer support to those in need. I firmly believe that people are a company's most valuable asset, and prioritizing their well-being is crucial.Looking ahead, I am driven by the ambition to explore international opportunities in the mining industry. I am eager to further develop my knowledge in explosives, mineral scheduling & processing, finance, mine management, and both short and long-term mine planning. By continuously expanding my expertise, I aim to contribute significantly to the growth and success of mining projects worldwide.

Mid-Range Planner InternRio Tinto May 2019 - Aug 2019London, Greater London, Gb• Worked on developing a monthly reconciliation of the haul truck speed model by constructing a monthly haulage network based on proportional good vs. bad weather days to validate if actual is following to plan. Showed the total, loaded, empty cycle times comparison to distance to show variance between them and if the MS Haulage is faster or slower than actual• Recommended an update to the current speed model by comparing total cycle times to correlate with distance. Calculated the impact to operating hours with the new speed restrictions to the current model vs. the base case model• Assisted the Sr. D&B Engineer by layout of blast patterns using MineSight• Developed a monthly report for Time Usage Model to further analyze actual vs. plan. Delay and Standby reconciliation to track KPI’s such as: Availability, Utilization of Availability, Utilization, and Effective Utilization. -
Blasting InternPatriot Powder May 2018 - Oct 2018Explosives Engineering Intern and Assistant Technical Sales representative for Patriot Powder LLC. Provided sales support for the AXXIS™ electronic detonator system in Western US. Tasked completed during my internship:-Built retail pricing model for Western US using North American explosive manufacturers products.-Formulated a blasting gasbag savings calculator.-Produced State of Wyoming Blaster Training 24-hour course-Developed Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, and Utah business plansKnowledge gained from my internship:-The supply chain process of explosives in the Western US-The knowledge and experience of the type of explosives used in coal, gold, and copper.-Built a deeper understanding of what tasked are completed by an Explosives Engineer and what a mine manager needs to know about their mine, blasting holes, and explosive products.

Data Analysis EngineerNasa Goddard Space Flight Center Jan 2018 - Apr 2018Greenbelt, Md, UsWorked on a team in Instrument and Payload Branch as their Data Analysis Engineer. Was an evaluator for training programs at Goddard Space Flight Center. Created surveys and models to evaluate data collected from training programs to generate Heat Maps in Excel and MATLAB. In this incredible experience at Goddard Space Flight Center, I realized how many small details need to be included for any project to be completed. While many might be stressed on their projects or research you have to find a medium in which works best not only for yourself but for others working with you as well. It is a team effort from beginning to end and the way to get the best out of everyone is constant communication reinforced with feedback. -
Explosives Engineering InternBme, A Member Of The Omnia Group Jun 2017 - Aug 2017Johannesburg, Gauteng, ZaExplosives, Blasting Internship with BME at Kansanshi Open Pit Copper Mine in Zambia.Learned and implemented the AXXIS™ Blasting Box system using electronic delay detonators by hands on experience in the main pit. Designed blasting patterns using BME's software package BlastMap™ III that showed the energy distribution and direction of blasted rock. While in main pit I was tasked with using the AXXIS™ Leakage/Functionality Tester to identify leakages or short-circuits in the system before a blast and repaired any wires found on the block. As well as, assigned time sequences using AXXIS™ Logger into the AXXIS™ GII detonators. With the blaster foreman I conducted pre-blast checks to identify any errors or extras in our EDD system to help problem solve where the possible issue was on the block. Towards the end of my internship I prepared a final presentation for BME product managers.Knowledge gained during my internship:- The morning meetings attended for safety, planning session for the day with mine managers of First Quantum Minerals has taught me valuable lessons in what it takes to operate a mine safely and efficiently.- Hands on experience with electronic blasting system, electronic delay detonators, and software has helped further my knowledge of explosive industry within mining. - I know how to plan a blast with the drilling parameters and know the cost analysis of how to report how much explosives were used for each shot.- Made short term blast plans and implemented them on the bench with the blasters
