This role required me to ensure that all stores were well equipped and prepared to act on any promotions, sales, incentives or company initiatives that were driven from head office.Main achievements:In 2008 HMV only had a 60% compliance rating for the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulation introduced by the government, which was below the accepted level. I met with the regulators and as a result rebuilt a communication pack for all stores to follow. This included point of sale graphical elements and guidelines. I then communicated this to the whole business who took action resulting in a 97% compliance, within three months.In 2008 HMV decided that in order to remain competitive within the games market they would introduce a pre-played games offer. As part of a large project team consisting of all departments across head office I worked closely with them to build a communication pack and critical launch timeline to deliver the project ready for peak Christmas trading. The successful implementation of this project helped exceed sales expectations.Following a department restructure I was given the responsibility for renewing hmv’s Performing Rights Society (PRS) music license. Doing so ensured the business continued its responsibility to the music industry. Due to a review of the internal process I implemented I saved the company £20k upon renewal, in the first year.Role responsibilities:- First point of contact for HMV estate of 280 stores and operational field team.- Produced store operational guidelines.- Set up and managed an internal email based communication method for all HMV stores. - Key contact for all head office departments for advice and implementation of projects and initiatives. - Created and maintained visual merchandising principles for sections in store.- Created and managed audio and visual chart planagrams. - Maintained operational and commercial sections of the HMV intranet system.
