I lead the technical teams responsible for the transportation planning and traffic engineering elements of a range of projects, including development-led schemes and highway improvement schemes in both the public and private sectors.I have a passion for problem-solving and developing optimum solutions for highway improvement schemes that facilitate and encourage travel by sustainable modes. My specialist fields are cycling and traffic modelling both of which I work closely with my Dutch colleagues to share the experience and expertise from the leaders in those fields. For cycling, I strongly believe that world-class cycling infrastructure should be a fundamental part of our road networks so that cycling becomes a genuine mode of transport that everyone can do without the need for lycra, helmets and the whole range of protective equipment that is commonplace for UK cyclists. We should create environments and infrastructure that not only allow, but make people want to cycle rather than drive. I have experience with various forms of traffic modelling including Junctions, LinSig and Aimsun (micro, meso and macro traffic modelling software).I am regularly involved in projects such as Transport Assessments, Feasibility Studies, Accessibility Studies, Travel Planning, Traffic Assessments and Traffic Modelling.
