I am an experienced humanitarian and development practitioner, consultant and leader with a demonstrated history of innovative project development and programme management. I have worked at the grass roots with communities in both long term development and humanitarian responses in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. I understand how to empower and nurture talent in diverse teams. I collaborate effectively with peers, non government and government institutions and academic partners to form coalitions, advocate, and co create resources relevant to field workers. I collaborated on significant projects with the SEARCH Institute, Children's Environments Research Group (CERG), Knowing Children (Judith Ennew), the Institute of Child Health, The International Canadian and Child Rights Partnership (ICCRP) and global coalitions and consortiums focused on child poverty and peacebuilding.I offer a range of skills and expertise across different disciplines. These include child development, child rights, child protection, child participation, adolescent programming, formal and non-formal education and community development. I used these skills to steer Word Vision International towards an integrated child focused approach, bringing different sectors together to work towards a common set of child well-being outcomes. I have successfully conducted multiple research and evaluation projects using participatory approaches, and developed project proposals for major donors. My participation in high level expert panels and representation at global forums demonstrates a depth of trust in my knowledge and experience.I bring 30 years of experience working at local and global levels of the humanitarian industry. I am bilingual, and I know how to build relationships and connect across cultures. I have published multiple articles in books and peer reviewed journals, and received awards from ISPCAN and Cornell University. In my spare time, I served as governor at my children's school and as a board member for non profits. I currently volunteer at my local Food Bank.
