DEC Pharmaceutical is a medium-sized veterinary pharmaceutical contract-manufacturing organization (CMO), and the only producer of the Eazi-Breed™ CIDR® products for the global market. The marketing authorizations for these leading fertility management products are held by Zoetis. At DEC, the CIDR products are manufactured, packed, and dispatched under cGMP conditions, then exported to over sixty countries world-wide, including the US, Japan, and Europe.Reporting to the Group CEO, I was head of the Quality Control Unit (QCU) with overall responsibility for the correct scientific and technical functioning of the product and associated processes, including all manufacturing and analytical activities, validation, stability, trending and research. I held Technical Authority and QCU Authority for the business, with QA, QC, and Compliance Authorities as sub-reports and was also responsible for the Health & Safety function.

Executive responsibility for one of three business divisions at Hill Laboratories, New Zealand's leading independent analytical testing service provider.

Reporting to the founder and Managing Director, Roger Hill, I had a role in guiding strategic business development projects across the company, focusing on international start-up opportunities and strategic alliances.

The Technical Products business unit was a specialist OEM manufacturer (plastics and silicone rubber) of medical devices (F&P Healthcare), Agritech products, appliance, and electronics components. I initially joined the publicly listed Vertex Pacific Ltd as Business Development Manager, later assuming general management / P&L responsibility following mergers with Alto Plastics and acquisition by the Pact Group (VISY Industrial Packaging).

JVA Analytical Ltd (Dublin) was the leading supplier of analytical instrumentation in Ireland, representing Varian Inc, ABB Bomem, CEM, Domnick Hunter, and others. JVA was acquired by United Drug in 2007.Based remotely, I held responsibility for sales in the South of Ireland (Munster) and led the development of a new business area for JVA countrywide: implementing on-line NIR based process-monitoring systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing sites (representing ABB Bomem, Quebec).

At the DRC (now DairyNZ), I was involved in the chemical analysis of all things entering and exiting the Dairy cow. In later years giving input to research trials and holding a leadership role in the analytical Laboratories.
