First, about the name... Theseus (pronounced: Thee - See - Us) is a Greek myth in which Athens was being forced to provide victims to the Minotaur who lived in an inescapable labyrinth. Theseus volunteered to confront the Minotaur, and using thread provided by Ariadne, he went thru the labyrinth, confronted the Minotaur and found his way safely back from the labyrinth.Many companies confronting regulatory challenges feel similarly stuck in an inescapable maze, unable to find their way through and out - and they need help in solving the maze and dealing with the regulators themselves. The Power Plant and Line Siting Committee considers and evaluates the environmental impacts and the economic benefits of proposed new high-voltage electric transmission lines and new power plants in Arizona. After conducting hearings on the proposals, the Committee makes recommendations to the Arizona Corporation Commission on whether to grant the proposal a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility or not; and if so, whether certain conditions should be emplaced on the project to ensure that it is compatible with the State's needs.
