I am a casual, inquisitive, unpretentious person, and a self-driven professional with excellent cross-functional skills. I am very hands-on and have a remarkably diverse background and love new challenges and acquiring new knowledge.For a large part of my career, I was an engineer designing ultra-high pressure (UHP) hose and fluid connectors with working pressures up to 60,000-psi. I am a pioneer in the UHP hose industry especially in the design of UHP hose fittings. So many of my designs are in use today and I am proud of that. I was a board member of the Water Jetting & Technology Association where I served as Secretary and proposed the current color coding scheme for ultra-high pressure hoses. Throughout my career, I have performed hundreds if not more, product evaluations, failure analyses, and acted as divisional legal expert when needed. I consider myself a subject matter expert on UHP hose and fittings and am a published author on the proper use and safety of UHP hose.As my career advanced, I was promoted to Engineering Manager where I supervised engineers and technicians as well as designers and shop floor personnel. I assisted the quality manager in developing engineering quality assurance procedures and defined the requirements for new manufacturing cells and equipment as well as the layout of a new manufacturing facility. Over time I gradually became more involved in Continuous Improvement which I really enjoy. I met weekly with staff to advise and maintained focus on top projects and business improvement process priorities and ensured that measurable results were obtained. I create a lean strategy to develop and improve manufacturing cells while incorporating lean methods such as kaizen / 2P / 3P events to determine space requirements, equipment layout, workflow/process maps, and workforce utilization. I also drive continuous process improvements using high performance teams, incorporating DMAIC, value stream mapping, and other CIP improvement tools.
