This means that, once I’ve completed the legal analysis and assessed the risks, I give clients an opinion on how I think they should proceed and, once the course of action has been decided, I do everything I can to achieve a successful outcome.I have been a solicitor for approximately 20 years acting for a wide range of cross-sector businesses, from start-ups to household name UK and multi-national businesses, meaning that I have a wealth of knowledge and experience advising on the legal issues that arise before, during and after employment. Perhaps more importantly, I invest a lot of time getting to know the clients I work with, by which I mean the individuals I deal with as well as the business in which they work. This dramatically increases the clarity and quality of communication between us and means that, in effect, I work as part of the client’s HR function, whether that is a dedicated HR team or partnering with the individuals/counsel tasked with HR matters.On a day-to-day basis I advise on a broad range of employment matters on both a domestic and an international basis, including but not limited to: service agreements, employment contracts, staff handbooks, employment status issues, consultancy agreements, agency worker rights, family-friendly rights, discrimination, restrictive covenants, confidentiality, redundancies, reorganisations, business transfers (including TUPE), integration/harmonisation projects, international assignments, settlement negotiations, termination of employment and Employment Tribunal litigation.I hope you found this information useful and please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.
