Over the years, I have gained lot of knowledge that got retained in the Engrams of my memory. For the last 20+ years, I have been connecting these individual pieces of knowledge to form experiences that are exciting, creative as well as propel me into the interesting future of leadership that I am pursuing.When I look into my prospective memory, I see myself developing the art of leadership by understanding the psychological concepts of convergent, lateral and divergent thinking; learning from individuals within and outside of the industry including, but not limited to psychologists, sociologists, critical and creative thinkers; mentoring and coaching team members, keeping up-to-date with technologies and sharing my ideas with the wider community by attending the agile meetups.But what spurs the future is what I’ve already experienced in my past and stored in my episodic memory. My initial experience as a web developer, my experimentation with industry certs, my choice to switch the career to mentor and coach the team members and finally attaining the enlightenment like Buddha under the Bodhi tree by “thinking about my thinking” and applying it to my career is what makes the journey interesting.I believe that an adept craftsman should be able to use any innovative ideas at their disposal and some of the ideas that I’ve experimented and the ones that are stored in my procedural memory are using innovative approaches like Bob Marshall’s anti-matter principle in running retros, improving the team’s productivity using Kanban kata and by applying divergent thinking techniques to foster creativity within the team.Finally the parts of my declarative memory were cemented firmly after I completed my Bachelors in Computer Science and MBA in eBusiness.
