As the Programs and Peer Review Manager at the Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation (SHRF), reporting to the Director of Programs and Partnerships, I play a key role in delivering SHRF’s suite of funding programs, which support our strategic goals of strengthening research capacity, advancing local health solutions, and fostering stakeholder connections for knowledge mobilization. I manage the full lifecycle of SHRF’s research funding programs, including program launches, applicant support, application intake, peer review facilitation, results coordination, and ongoing grant management. Additionally, I lead the peer review process across all SHRF funding competitions, ensuring adherence to our peer review policies and continuous improvement. My responsibilities also include recruiting peer reviewers nationwide, providing them with necessary support, compiling peer review results for senior leadership, and developing new initiatives for reviewer recruitment and mentorship. I work closely with SHRF staff in finance, communications, and impact reporting, and represent SHRF on provincial and national working groups. This high-volume position requires strong multitasking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to build collaborative relationships and provide functional work direction to ensure established goals are achieved.
