Payton Capps serves as the Manager of Business Attraction at the Frisco Economic Development Corporation. Payton began his work with the Frisco EDC as the Business Retention and Expansion Specialist, where he helped build and maintain programming designed to connect and strengthen the Frisco Business Community.Prior to joining the Frisco EDC, Payton was a Research Assistant for the Tyler Economic Development Council. He conducted market research designed to analyze the community’s demographic and labor market trends. He used this data to produce reports provided to the organization's board, committees, and investors. Payton concurrently served as a Graduate Assistant for the University of Southern Mississippi.Payton is actively involved with the Frisco Young Professionals as well as several other community groups working to build the next generation of talent in North Texas.Payton received his Master of Science in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi and was recognized through the "Outstanding Masters of Science in Economic Development Student" award during the Spring 2022 semester. Payton also earned a B.S. in Economics and a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Tyler while representing the University as a student-athlete on the Men's Golf Team.Payton is an active Frisco resident and spends the majority of his free time in Downtown Frisco with his wife Hannah and their dogs Baker and Ari.
