At my Alma Mater, SUNY New Paltz, I found my way to the International Student Union. Immersing myself in Spanish game nights, Indian cooking nights, and Nigerian movie nights. Soon after, I became president of the group, organizing 60 plus person trips, bi-weekly meetings, and the most successful Multicultural Festival the organization has seen in its existence. After graduation in May 2016, I accepted a position with the CIEP (Centre international d'études pédagogiques) to be an English Language Assistant in Strasbourg, France. Two years of working abroad has given me the vital experience and insight on how to adapt, cooperate, and progress working with people from all walks of life. I have now been with NYIT at different capacities within the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences. The diversity offered by the students coming from the five boroughs, different states, and different countries, coming together here at our Columbus Circle Campus is a wonderful thing to experience.I believe that the future of the world will not only be shaped by economics and politics, but also by the internet, and the sharing and understanding of identities, values, and heritage, something I’ve experienced directly. With my dual degrees in French and Communications, I find interdisciplinary work particularly appealing. Ideally, I will ideally work in the sector of International Education. Be it as International Student Coordinator, welcoming students to their new country and coordinating culture-sharing events like those of ISU, or creating, curating, and distributing information with UNESCO, I flourish in a group setting, my best work is done hands on. Beyond NYIT, I am currently working on my MBA and my own PR start-up.
