Phil has been an Educational Technologist for 22+ years, 10 of those in senior positions with the UK's leading education technology company, RM Education. Phil is one of the generation whose introduction to computers was the Sinclair ZX81. It ignited in him an enduring love of technology. As a student of Psychology at Exeter University, he was pushing the boundaries of learning and technology with a dissertation on the use of software neural nets in modelling human language acquisition.Although Phil has a technical background, strong communication and leadership skills propelled him into a commercial environment, leading the development of strategic propositions for multi-million pound projects such as the Building Schools for the Future programme and national learning technology projects like C2K and Glow.His years working in education technology mean that Phil has observed and supported many hundreds of schools in using technology to enhance learning, teaching and the business of education. This breadth of experience is the foundation for his current roles, having left RM to set up two businesses: Learnocracy to offer education technology consultancy, and Airhead to sculpt cloud products for schools. Both are proving to be a source of both enjoyment and success - a great combination.As well a full-time career in educational technology, Phil has a shadow career as a bass guitarist.
