I became the Managing partner in 2003. Since then I have been exclusively responsible for delivery of the firms marketing plan, compliance with the firm’s authorisation and regulatory bodies and implementation of policies and procedures.Having become the largest conveyancing solicitors in Liverpool, MSB Solicitors is now looking for opportunities to expand our family and commercial departments. I recently introduced an apprenticeship scheme for aspiring lawyers. Apprenticeships offer opportunities for learning with flexible on-the-job training and can be an effective way of harnessing new talent. I joined MSB Solicitors in 1989 as an assistant solicitor working in general legal practice and became a partner in 1990. The firm was established the year before and was originally based in Aigburth Road. I was responsible for supplying a variety of legal services to clients and started working specifically in family law and property law. MSB Solicitors family law department handles all family matters including divorce, cohabitation disputes, children issues, domestic violence and child abduction. There are now a number of family law bodies which offer accreditation for excellence in this sector and MSB Solicitors have worked hard over the years to achieve such recognition from the Law Society and Resolution. The Children Act 1989 was important in allocating duties to local authorities, courts, parents and other agencies to ensure children are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted. Our family law department now handles a wide variety of child related cases.My interest and work in property law eventually led to my appointment as head of that department and MSB Solicitors are now the leading law firm in Liverpool for conveyancing and property law matters.
