I am a Library Associate II for the Govans Branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library (formerly Southeast Anchor Library), serving the needs of the Young Adult patrons of the area. As with my new title, my responsibilities have expanded: I organize and conduct school visits and class visits; I coordinate various in-branch programs for young adults; I join and occasionally lead committees organizing major events inside and outside the branch, from the library's annual fan convention called PrattCon to the library's first foray into Baltimore's Pride Parade and Festival; and, finally, I teach kids how to draw manga!

I am a Library Associate I for the Southeast Anchor Library of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, serving the needs of the Young Adult patrons of the area. I have assisted patrons with accessing informational materials, from physical books (in house and through Interlibrary Loans), electronic resources through Enoch Pratt’s databases, and myriad of information available on the Internet. As part of the YA department, I plan, prepare and implement fun and engaging programming for Young Adult patrons, ranging from video game sessions to arts and crafts, from general homework help to college-level research assistance using databases and electronic resources. Outside of department work, I am also responsible for routine library maintenance, like shelving, shelf-reading, updating department-wide and branch-wide library statistics, and supervising interns and visiting staff.

I work on the second station of the Adult Information Desk, and handle some daily needs of the patrons, the other staff and the branch as a whole. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to, handling item requests, processing library holds, occasional library maintenance (shelving, shelf-reading reorganizing pamphlets and literature etc.) and fielding questions from patrons, ranging from general knowledge to, specialized research inquires.

I use my knowledge of the products available and my own experience to create bonds with customers to help them create informed decisions, while moving stock, operating cashiers and organizing books with speed and accuracy.
