Other roles with my time at Logicalis included being the head of the “Engineering Department”; after a company reorganisation I returned to pre-sales focusing on Cisco UC and the related infrastructures. My role as a field engineer and team leader included on-site support, installation, configuration, fault diagnosis of data and voice multiplexer networks, including: TDM, stat-mux, LAN bridges/routers (yes, even before sub-net masks existed), ISDN, X.25 switching (Netrix) and Frame Relay switching nodes. Most clients were in the banking and finance sector for which I was the lead/named engineer for a major high street bank.

My role incorporated all activities related to creating, documenting and running test suites for systems level and telephony features on various Northern Telecom [NT] telephone exchange platforms, including DMS100/250 and Centrex. Additional responsibilities included the maintaining of test switch configurations (datafill), designing the full test bed configuration for two new test switches and establishing the UK based Basic Rate ISDN [BRI] test platform.
