Directed East Tennessee State University's community outreach and economic development initiative through the Center for Community Outreach and Applied Research to develop partnerships among ETSU and the regional community, until program elimination on December 30, 2018. Efforts provided technical assistance, expanded and attracted businesses, encouraged entrepreneurship, facilitated revitalization, capitalized on tourism opportunities and supported the coordination and execution of strategic planning and product development for economic expansion efforts. Wrote, developed and was awarded seventeen state and federal grants totaling over $1M in goal directed project funding, including USDA Rural Development, Tennessee Valley Authority InvestPrep, State of Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Tennessee Arts Commission, Appalachian Regional Commission, and Tennessee Department of Tourism Development. Served concurrently under contract as the Executive Director of the Joint Economic Development Board of Unicoi County, Tennessee during 2012-2016.
