As time goes on our thoughts and goals change. We live in an ever changing world and we need to change with it or get left behind. When leaving school I definitely did not want to work in what I thought was a dull accounting office like my mother, I didn't know what I really wanted to do though, so took the path a lot of school leavers took at that time and started working in a bank. I slowly progressed from the bank, to a finance company, a manufacturing company, a record company and then back to a bank clearing house. With each new position my knowledge base grew.In 1987 I decided to pack my family up and make the move to the land of opportunity, Australia! GST had just been adopted in New Zealand and Australia looked like the land of milk and honey. I must say, I have never regretted my move across the ditch and I am sure the move has helped make me the person I am today. Since living in Australia I have worked in various industries, manufacturing, retail, hospitality accounting, all the time doing administrative and accounting work. In 2014 I found myself working for an accounting firm, the one thing I said I would never do when I left school. How times have changed though. It was not the dull, boring job I thought it would be. Instead it is varied and exciting, keeping me on my toes working with so many different clients. The move to the accounting firm saw me largely working for one client, Nuchev Ltd. This was a start up company and had so many interesting facets to it, as it involved goat farming. In 2017 I picked up my desk in Geelong and moved it to Melbourne, where I became a full time employee of Nuchev. Unfortunately in 2022 my time with Nuchev ended, as my position was made redundant. I'm now waiting for a new door to open and start the next chapter of my working life. Now that my family has grown up, I like to spend my time travelling when possible, watching a variety of sport, reading, gardening and spending time with my family.Since moving to Geelong I have become an avid Geelong Cats supporter (Go Cats!!!) and most winter weekends you will find me watching them either live or on TV.Prior to Covid-19 I always liked to have a trip planned and have been to several countries around the world in the last few years including Cambodia, Canada, Cyprus, Dubai, Pacific Islands, Taihiti, Thailand, UK and Vietnam. My last trip prior to Covid-19 was a cruise down the Mekong River. Nothing broadens the mind like travel!

BookkeeperNuchev Limited Jan 2017 - Feb 2022Melbourne, AustraliaAfter 5 years at Nuchev my position has unfortunately been made redundant.During my time at Nuchev I have been responsible for the following - office admin, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales orders, stock control, month end processing to P&L/Balance Sheet, sales/financial reports, payroll and many other various adhoc roles.I joined Nuchev after 3 years of bookkeeping for Nuchev at Proadvice in Geelong. I basically moved my desk to Melbourne and become part of the Nuchev team. Between my time at Proadvice and Nuchev, I have been involved with the company for 8 years. I originally started at Proadvice just a few months after the company was created. The company has certainly grown since I first became involved with it. It is now a fully listed company on ASX and is now selling its Goats Milk Infant Formula, Oli6, both locally and overseas.I've enjoyed my time with Nuchev, seeing the company grow and working with great staff. It is certainly a job I will miss. -

All administration duties from accounts payable, though to payroll and compliance returns were completed for them. This position increased my computer software knowledge base, as we worked with several different products including, MYOB Exo, Banklink, Xero, Cashbook, MYOB Premier 19 & MYOB Online.Accounting firms weren't as dull & boring as I thought after all. -
Administration AssistantThe Optical Company Pty Ltd Jan 2013 - Jan 2014GeelongThe old adage of 'One door closes and another door opens' rang true again.
