Pedro Ramirez is a strong advocate for the poor and underserved people in Los Angeles. With a daunting task and a challenge in life, he finished his Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management (MBA/HCM) at the University of Phoenix. Pedro currently serves as Director of Outreach and Community Engagement at Comprehensive Community Health Centers (CCHC), a full service nonprofit FQHC community health network. Reporting to the CEO, he is responsible for the development and management of CCHC’s community engagement and outreach program and act as the center’s community liaison in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with schools, government and other community partners to promote CCHC community benefits and outreach program.For 13 years, Pedro worked as Director for Multicultural Health Awareness and Prevention (MHAP) Center at St. Vincent Medical Center. As director for MHAP Center, he is responsible for the organization, management and leadership of the hospital’s community building, access to healthcare and continuum of care programs for the underserved individuals and their families.Pedro established and trained a strong staff with diverse backgrounds and capabilities and a cadre of volunteers, and set their expectations and goals while providing detailed plans and support to facilitate their success. Pedro also organize and maintain an amazing network of community partners from schools, community and faith-based organizations, medical providers, government organizations and consulates. As director with highly organized team of outreach coordinators and health promoters, he lead a team that has served tens of thousands of underserved individuals, providing them with health access, opportunities to learn about healthy behaviors and referrals for medical treatment and follow-up services to augment their health needs. Pedro is a man with a mission, committed and dedicated to social and community service.
