Honesty has always helped me explain myself, especially when I don’t know where to begin. I am a first generation Latino from Peru who grew up in Brooklyn, New York. One of the first in my family to grow up in a foreign country full of opportunities. After high school, I began my academic career majoring in liberal arts with the intentions of switching over to psychology. Instead I ended up switching to accounting with the intentions of learning how to manage money. Currently, I’m a senior in Hunter college about to graduate with my undergraduate degree in accounting by winter 2021, with 150 credits.Prior to Covid, I spent almost 3 years working full time for the Patina Restaurant Group in their Macy’s Herald Square location as a food runner. It was a fast paced environment, especially during holiday seasons.Unfortunately, ever since covid I’ve been unemployed, taking this time to continue working on my professional development while studying and looking to begin my career in accounting.
