The company name (Orax) was based on my love for "Oracle" and "Unix". I initially started with Oracle services while running a side project that was first conceived in 2000 on Oracle Web Application technologies. In 2007/8 I spent a year employed by a friend in REO Consulting to create a Service Desk solution for them. I used the "Orax Apps" framework to build this solution. During the same year EOH acquired the business and I exited the companyI was informed by EOH that the cost of the solution was too expensive. I then proceeded to create a new SaaS solution to replace the more expensive enterprise solution. The migration was painful, but within 6 months the new solution was stable enough to expand. The new SaaS solution was called "Orax Service Delivery Infrastructure". I soon got new customers in different industries and started to expand in many business processes and enhance the original financials.Today the Orax SDI Business Management Platform is used in large, medium and small companies to enable growth, competitiveness, profit and customer loyalty. It has been an amazing ride.I've since moved my focus from IT systems to my true calling - Business Activator, using IT systems. I love the action of business and it is a great privilege for me to enjoy our customer's amazing companies and what they achieve.

During a special situation I assisted my parents by running their butchery, bakery and abattoir operation for a period of time. During this time I developed and implemented an IT system to run and coordinate processes, orders and point-of-sale. I myself had no interest in the "meat" industry, but thoroughly enjoyed the business side.

I started 2 cellular shops in Silverton, Pretoria. A Vodcom and MTN shop. Both traded under the Easy Cell CC company. This was my first experience in retail and I had a lot of success turning a quiet shopping centre into a busy spot. I created the vision, systems, shop design and the point-of-sale system. As was my way, I worked from home, only visiting the shops to find issues and tune systems. I had a sales champoin who greatly helped reach success, though at that time I was not fully aware of her value. I eventually lost interest, got bored and moved into a more "exciting career path" in Oracle. I later discovered that it was not the best move for me as an entrepreneur and it took me almost 10 years to dislodge from that IT trajectory.

I started this business from my University Dorm Room in my second year BCom Informatics. It started out "Computer Design & Print", focussing on a student market. I soon realised that students do not have money and moved to a business market. By my 3rd year I was too busy to continue my studies and it eventually took a long time to complete all the credits. After a year I changed the name of the business to "Peet de Vos Graphics" and continued along this path for many years, even while engaging in other ventures. During this time I met many amazing entrepreneurs and managers who have inspired me. This was the start of my long journey supporting businesses that were no my own and working with amazing entrepreneurs.
