I find the worlds between Human Reliability and Psychology fascinating. Human performance, particularly in the area of risk, has been a part of my life for many years.I am so honoured to work with and amongst some of the world’s leading professionals in the area of Health & Safety.Everyone can make mistakes, no matter how well trained and motivated they are. However, in the workplace, the consequences of such human failure can be severe, if not fatal. Analysis of accidents and incidents shows that human failure contributes to almost all accidents and exposures to substances which can be hazardous to health. My role is to plug those gaps and provide safe working procedures and environments. In my work as a consultant and trainer I lecture and deliver workshops in all aspects of Human Factors. Qualified to PhD level, I never cease to be on the journey of understanding. I recently decided to undertake a Masters in Psychology, just to extend my personal journey!Of course, the main areas of my work have taken me into the Oil and Gas industry, chemical processing and most recently the pharmaceutical sector, where I provide guidance around Safety Critical Task Analysis and the development of promotional material to present at trade conferences. I’ve even worked most recently on FDA approval documentation for the COVID19 pandemic.Being so passionate to get out the message, I run free workshops to provide improved awareness around the subject of Human Reliability.Human performance is not a soft topic, it directly impacts the bottom line. I work with some of the worlds largest organisations to plan routes to success. This often overlaps with lean performance, change management, culture change, lean thinking and the creation of building communities. If you are looking for a trusted resource to work alongside to underpin a Human Factor strategy that will impact your organisations success, I might say look no further.I want to connect and collaborate with other leading experts in this field and would be delighted to connect here with like-minded individuals. Together we learn. Thanks for looking at my profile, and if you think we would benefit from knowing each other, please reach out.Penny.Easter@humanreliability.com
