Steven Kerns has been interested in radio and electronics since age 10, after High School he studied at Southern Arkansas University where he graduated in 1983 with an Associate in Applied Science degree in the field of Electronic Technology. Steven was recruited and hired by Beechcraft Aircraft prior to graduating college. After a two year stint with Beechcraft, he entered the field of Non-Destructive testing. Working for Independent Testing Labs (ITL) of Searcy Arkansas where he earned ANSI certification to perform Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, and Acoustic Emission testing of fiberglass and steel components and structures. While working for ITL as a contractor at Metropolitan Edison in Reading Pennsylvania he met his wife (of now 38 years) and moved to Pennsylvania (1986). After moving to Pennsylvania he worked for Motorola Communications for 4 years prior to taking a Biomedical Electronics position at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center. While working full time at The Reading Hospital he established Communication Technologies, a niche company that provided technical support and services for users of RF and video communication systems. In 1993, he co-founded Penn Biomedical Support, Inc. (PBS) a biomedical equipment service company. Since 1995 Steven has been employed full time by Penn Biomedical Support as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Over his professional career Steven has continued his education attending many technical and management seminars. He is licensed by the Federal Communication Commission to maintain commercial radio transmitting facilities and is an ICC/USCC Certified Biomedical Technician.
